European Patent Validation in Türkiye
Technically supervised.
Digitally managed.
Transparent from instruction to filing.
Stan Advoka handles European patent validations in Türkiye through a combination of patent-attorney supervision and the Validas File Portal. The portal provides a secure digital workspace through which foreign associates and patent owners can submit instructions, upload documents, review quotation data and follow the progress of the validation. Automation is used to structure the documents and reduce repetitive processing. Technical and professional responsibility remains with Stan Advoka.
A more transparent validation process
A traditional validation instruction can generate a long chain of emails involving patent documents, quotations, payment confirmations, translations, filing documents and status enquiries. The Validas File Portal brings these elements together in one matter-specific workspace.
- submit a new EP to Türkiye validation instruction;
- upload the B1 publication and editable patent documents;
- provide special instructions;
- review the document analysis and quotation guidance;
- upload a power of attorney or payment confirmation;
- follow translation, official-fee payment and filing;
- access released documents; and
- maintain a clear record of the matter.
One instruction. One secure workspace. One visible timeline.
How the instruction begins
The instructing party enters the relevant European patent details and uploads the available documents. The portal currently accepts the EPO B1 publication in PDF format, a combined specification in DOCX format and a separate figures PDF where required. The form also allows deadlines, special instructions, invoicing information and a request for the next Turkish renewal fee to be provided.
After submission, the user verifies the provided email address through a six-digit code and enters a secure intake workspace. No conventional account or reusable password is required. Once the required instruction or payment documents have been provided and the instruction has been finalised, the operational matter continues through a secure, passwordless case portal.
Automated document analysis
The portal analyses the combined specification and separates the principal sections for word-count and workflow purposes:
- the description;
- the claims;
- the abstract;
- independent and dependent claims;
- text appearing in the figures; and
- an indicative volume of passages directly associated with the independent claims.
Where the document structure requires estimation, the relevant values are displayed as approximate. These automated indications support quotation, workflow planning and translation quality control. They do not constitute a legal opinion on added matter, sufficiency of disclosure or claim support. The instructing party can review the extracted information before the instruction proceeds.
Technology-assisted translation and patent attorney control
A patent specification is not a uniform text. The claims, defined technical terms and passages explaining the claimed relationships require particular attention. Repetitive background text and standard passages do not always require the same level of technical intervention.
Technology-assisted translation is used to reduce repetitive processing and improve consistency across the wider document. An engineer and patent attorney applies enhanced review to:
- the independent and dependent claims;
- terminology that may affect claim interpretation;
- passages explaining essential technical relationships;
- text directly connected with the claimed subject matter;
- consistency between the claims, description and drawings; and
- the overall conformity of the Turkish text with the patent as granted.
The completed translation is checked before filing. Technology improves efficiency. It does not replace professional responsibility.
Cost efficiency through better allocation of work
The cost advantage of the system does not arise from removing professional review. It arises from allocating that review intelligently. The portal structures and measures the document. Translation technology assists with repetitive processing. The patent attorney’s technical attention is concentrated on the portions in which wording has the greatest potential significance.
This allows us to provide a technically supervised validation service at a more proportionate cost, without treating every page of a patent as though it presented the same technical risk. Quotation guidance is based on the documents and word-count information available in the workspace and remains subject to professional confirmation.
Follow every stage
The matter is displayed through a client-visible workflow:
- Intake
- Payment
- Translation
- Official fee
- Filed
The workspace may also contain uploaded instruction documents, matter-specific messages, translation and filing documents released to the client, payment and instruction information, the validation deadline, renewal information and a chronological record of status changes. The instructing party can therefore see the operative status without requesting a separate email update at every stage.
Validation and renewals in the same workspace
The portal can also record an instruction for the next Turkish renewal fee. Where renewal handling is requested, the workspace provides relevant filing and renewal information and can display a renewal timeline based on the patent’s filing and grant data.
Designed for foreign associates and patent departments
The service is designed for European patent attorneys, foreign patent and law firms, in-house IP departments, patent owners, multi-country validation coordinators and recurring instructing parties seeking a consistent Türkiye workflow. Each matter can include client references, special instructions and document-specific requirements.
Validas is the digital platform of Stan Advoka
Validas is a suite of digital IP tools developed and operated by Stan Advoka. It is not a separate law firm or legal entity. The portal provides the digital instruction and tracking environment. The patent service and professional responsibility remain with Stan Advoka.
